This project focuses on researching how to accelerate the urbanization process of rural-to-urban migrants through the following aspects: systematically analyzing the current status, dynamics, and development trends of migrant urbanization, and establishing a unified analytical framework based on a spatial general equilibrium model; prioritizing the study of equal access to public services during urbanization and corresponding spatial fiscal system reforms, proposing solutions for housing security, children's education, employment services, and spatial fiscal arrangements; conducting a systematic quantitative assessment of the progress and current state of household registration (hukou) system reform, analyzing the main challenges and solutions for migrants who are "willing but unable to obtain permanent residency," "able but unwilling to obtain residency," and "able and willing but have not obtained residency"; exploring how to vigorously develop social organizations, seeking an approach of "government-led policy with social organization assistance" through methods like one-to-one support and voluntary assistance to rapidly advance migrant urbanization; using the urbanization of involuntary migrants as a natural experiment and case study to research long-term development issues and corresponding solutions for rural-to-urban migrants, providing insights and recommendations for their sustainable urbanization.
